Toronto Film Festival 2012: la selezione ufficiale

Attualmente gli occhi dei cinefili sono puntati su Locarno e grandi attese sono rivolte all'imminente Mostra di Venezia, ma lontano dai lidi europei sono in corso i preparativi per il Toronto International Film Festival che dal 6 al 16 Settembre movimenterà il mondo del cinema nord americano.

Non senza sorprese è la selezione ufficiale ricca di ben oltre 120 titoli che vede alcuni volti noti impegnati anche dietro la cinepresa come l'attesissimo esordio del settantaquattrenne attore americano Dustin Hoffman con "Quartet", il nuovo lavoro di Ben Affleck "Argo" - che già aveva saputo farsi apprezzare con "Gone Baby Gone" e "The Town" - e l'italiano Sergio Castellitto regista di "Venuto al mondo".

Tra i tanti titoli di rilievo impossibile non menzionare l'immaginifico "Cloud Atlas" dei fratelli Wachowski che tornano alla regia dopo "Matrix,"The Silver Linings Playbook" di David O Russell, "Love, Marilyn" della documentarista Liz Garbus (già autrice dell'interessante documentario "Bobby Fisher Against The World"), "The Place Beyond The Pines" di Derek Cianfrance, la trasposizione cinematografica del romanzo di Salman Rushdie, autore anche della sceneggiatura, "Midnight's Children" firmata da Deepa Mehta, lo scespiriano "Much Ado About Nothing" di Joss Wheedon, "Frances Ha" di Noah Baumbach, "Byzantium" di Neil Jordan, il biopic "Hannah Arendt" firmato da Margarethe von Trotta.

E dopo esser passati per le rassegne europee saranno presentati anche gli ultimi lavori di Terrence Malick, Marco Bellocchio, Matteo Garrone, Pablo Larrain, Takeshi Kitano, Thomas Vintenberg, Jacques Audriard, Joe Wright, Robert Redford, Mira Nair, Billy Bob Thornton.
